The 7th Ibero-American Gaming Summit inaugurated

(Panama).- Panama has a regulated gaming industry, which is supported by legal security in games of chance, discovering jobs and boosting the economy, said Manuel Sánchez, Executive Secretary of the Gaming Control Board (JCJ), of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), at the inauguration of the 7th Ibero-American Gaming Summit.

"Exhibitors from 16 countries participated in the Summit, among them: Colombia, Paraguay, Portugal, Bolivia, Puerto Rico, Argentina, which promoted the strengthening of the gaming industry regulations, both for Panama and its nations," Sánchez stressed.
He reiterated that the issues to be discussed at the 7th Ibero-American Gaming Summit will be framed within the context of the Global Gaming Market and the Challenges in Regulation, Impact and future of the sector after Covid-19, Taxation in the Gaming Industry and Challenges in the competitive and innovative sector, Situation of Online Gambling, Perspectives of Ibero-American lotteries.
He highlighted that the gambling and luck industry in Panama is one of the 10 largest economic contributors to the National Treasury, which contributes more than 80 million balboas per year as income, and generates more than 10,000 direct permanent jobs in the country.
He pointed out that the gaming industry in Panama regulated online gaming, increased revenue to the Panamanian State, currently sponsors soccer leagues, journalist programs, contributions to the national team, and implemented the regulation of televised bingo.
The current JCJ administration also created the Responsible Gaming Office, where professional assistance is offered to compulsive gamblers through a suitable psychologist, who will later be treated through free clinics, which are part of the projects to be carried out by the institution, Sanchez concluded.
